My Royal Gramma has been with a clown for 2+ months - both happy, swim together, etc.

Recently (after adding a small BTA) the Royal Gramma vanished. I do not see him at meal time or at all for about a week. He has always been skittha and has disappeared for 24-48 hours before but never a week. No dead body has floated out anywhere - how is he getting food if he's alive/hiding? Is this normal?

how big is the tank? Do you have lots of rockwork, they like to hide behind the rocks

could your anemone have eaten it?
Ha no, the anemone is sooo tiny and won’t even eat little bits of raw shrimp let alone a fish. Besides my peppermint shrimp walks all over it without being eaten

Covered the overflow but also nothing there
Do you have anything in the overflow, like a skimmer, or reactor?

Sometimes the fish could be under them. That's what happened with my fish.

If you have stuff in the sump, if you can take it all out, then check.

Mine used to really be able to hide in the rock work. It can also sleep in very weird positions to fit in some tight spots - given its size. It would go missing for days at a time.

Because of the tight spots it would go into with the rockwork, my grammas scales are all scared and nicked up. Looks like it’s in rough shape. I thought it was Ich 6 months ago, but never went away. And no other fish ever got sick.

For one reason or another it has recently been much more active and part of the gangster squad that now bosses other fish around (along with a Bristletooth and lawnmower blenny)
