Hey all, so I I’ve kept fish since I was a teen (with a long break) but up until last year was just freshwater. Towards the end of last year I finally pulled the trigger on saltwater with a Fluval Evo 13.5 and it’s been amazing so far. I’ve always been enamored by marine life. Fast forward, my gf loved the PNW 0.3gal Mini Reef on display at WWC when we go, so I decided to do a Pico project for her. I found the Lifegard 1.2 gal on Amazon and was pleased with the internal filter chamber so I started this adventure. First thing I noticed after getting it was the pump was only 36gph, and since I planned on filling the chamber with media this obviously needed upgrading, so I went with the SICCE Minmouse with 82gph rating. I had to do some slight modifications to use the supplied return line and fit the SICCE, but just a bit of superglue gel did the trick. Then I found a small, inconspicuous heater. Next, the frag pack from Carib sea offered nicely sized rock for this aquascape. Also, noting the severe need for stability in something so small, I snagged an ATO to keep salinity proper. I’m still waiting on the light in the mail and will post updates after receiving. But currently we are up and running and waiting for cycle, can’t wait for first frags!
