Ewwww, but pretty.

It's ok, since I have winter crocks.

Yeah unfortunately I went looking around, closest thing I could find was a viburnum, which I don’t think so, so I went to get one of those plant ID apps, thinking it might work, but it costs 29.99! I would just cut it back until you can get an ID, or spring, then you can see the flowers. Also once it starts turning color, then It might make ID easier.
Seek is the app I use.

Google says it's probably in the Bittersweet family but not the typical ornamental Bittersweet.

Tonight I noticed a strange thing. My Hawaiian feather duster worm is alive. It’s in pretty much the same place on the same rock as before.

IMG_5771.jpeg

I often observe what’s happening in that area. Amphipods often scurry around that rock and I like to watch them. I hadn’t seen the worm with its crown out since when my montiporas suddenly browned out and I had all that cyano everywhere.

Can a Hawaiian feather duster hide itself for 2 months? Could it be that the skimmer has made conditions conducive for the worm to thrive? If so I imagine the skimmer is removing bad organisms that made the worm close up all that time. I’m just glad to see it again.

Tomorrow I’ll remove the two small rocks that are over the worm’s rock so it can be seen properly again and can feed more efficiently.

I miss snow.
Not in September and may, but other times, miss it.
When in doubt… rip it out :winking-face-with-tongue::winking-face-with-tongue::winking-face-with-tongue:

The difference between a deer and an elk backstrap is hilarious.

This is the deer, both backstraps are under my hand.
IMG_20231105_161847612.jpg

And the elk. This is just one. Measured 24"long.

If I ever win the lotto, one of my dreams is a private elk ranch. For profit of course. Do you know how much guaranteed private land hunts are? Let's just say they're ridiculous and always booked.

I want a Bengal but I prefer the white ones with big teeth and a huge roar... I think people go to jail for those Bengals though.
Depends on the state you live in. Some just require a special permit and/or wildlife license. And really good insurance :face-with-tears-of-joy:
