Did i just find a 4 leaf clover ?

It’s technically still three leaves. They’re double lobed though so it’s like you found a six leaved clover in a way.

What was that talk of FL trying to kill you?

Woman got barbed by a stingray in Hillsborough county. Just barely missed her lung. 4 inches deep.

Photos from the article. She's okay.

Tornados, not just for Indiana anymore.
This is where man lives, he slept through it. I'm about 10 miles away. Trees down all over and power out everywhere. I must be doing something right, I have power. Across the street and behind me doesn't. It was a bit scary. Almost had to go put my shoes on. ;)

So I have a question. I got a colony of cabbage leather yesterday from someone who had their tank crash on them. After cleaning up the rock real well (it had xenia on it but it died off before I got the colony), I put it in the DT. So far I don’t have any ammonia issues. Now the cabbage leather was and still is in the process of sloughing but there’s also some die off. My thoughts are that my hermits and other CUC should be attracted to the necrotic tissue, and that they should eat it. I don’t have as many hermits as I did but I still have a few. Same with bristle worms and the like. I might try and pick up a couple more hermits tomorrow. Am I right on this or do I need to trim off those areas and hope for the best?

I have some pictures of the colony. I put the rock in the tank backwards last night because I was more concerned about getting it in good water than about much else. This is the mother colony my mini colony came from so it’s got a double shot of sentimental value to me.

Trim off any necrotic tissue with a razor blade. Make sure you take a little healthy tissue with it. Run extra carbon. And regardless of ammonia I recommend a small (10%) water change. Leathers can be awful when that big and destroy a tank very suddenly. I wouldn't risk it.

Will do. Thank you. I wondered.
