Technically if doing a Herbie its ok to go 3/4 inch on the drain with the gate valve. It can be configured so it is only needed for fine-tuning the flow so there is no noise.

So I'm considering vinegar dosing to bring my nitrates down. I need more nitrate reagents first though. Good idea or bad idea? I'm already dosing phosphates and my nitrates are still rising.

My Fuge has some miniature form of Ulva growing in it. Should I get some other Macro to put in there? It's an in-tank so it gets regular tank lighting rather than red.

Ain't broke ,don't try to fix it, clean any socks /floss , seachem denitrate in a sack/reactor will drop slowly...
