This is my first attempt at something like this. Wasn't on purpose. I'm battling acoel flatworms.I’m wanting to do just this! You don’t think it’s gonna last without fighting? I can’t find much info on a pair of yellows
My tanks large enough I feel it would be good for a long time any ways lol..This is my first attempt at something like this. Wasn't on purpose. I'm battling acoel flatworms.
The H. Leucoxanthus really likes the chrysus. Clown tang keeps trying to split them up and leuco, keeps going back to the chrysus.
Now if something can keep the chrysus from turning male, as the leuco is transgressing to male... there should be no fight. In my situation.
This has been my better fish reefing experiencein a very long time.
Tl;dr gotta try it and have a backup plan if it wont work out.
Honestly, if it's something you want to do. Go for it. I would attempt as small as possible and let them work it out.My tanks large enough I feel it would be good for a long time any ways lol..
I’m def gonna try it! I picked one up a couple weeks ago and he went in the sand to never be seen again… he’s gotta be gone for good.. ugh… I have to drive for 2 hours to get some healthy ones out here in Vegas lol..Honestly, if it's something you want to do. These wrasses are easier to catch if needed vs fairy/flashers.
And, if you needed to find one a new home. That would take minutes to find someone. They are great fish with big personalities.
In my own experience, the chrysus I received was extremely timid.I’m def gonna try it! I picked one up a couple weeks ago and he went in the sand to never be seen again… he’s gotta be gone for good.. ugh… I have to drive for 2 hours to get some healthy ones out here in Vegas lol..
I haven't had a Chrysus, but my Leucoxanthus was definitely (and still is) more daring than the Melanurus. Also grew FAST.In my own experience, the chrysus I received was extremely timid.
Day 1. 2 minutes, in the sand for 12 hours.
Day 2. 2 hours, ate enough mysis to stuff her belly.
Day 3. Stayed in the sand.
Day 4. Leucoxanthus formed a gang with the small slender fish to bring chrysus out of hiding.
Which is why I took this picture.
As I've said. This has been the most interesting fish experience I've had in a long time.
Leucoxanthus seem to be more brave than chrysus, personal experience.
That's odd, my melan always came up for food, but he was the big baddy of the tank.I haven't had a Chrysus, but my Leucoxanthus was definitely (and still is) more daring than the Melanurus. Also grew FAST.
It'll hang with the Mel, then when I get too close the Mel runs away and the Leuco comes to see what I'm doing.
