Brightwell just because I dunno I use all their other stuff. It's iodide too like everyone said to get.
Iodide is supposed to be the better option. Brightwell is a good choice!

Goldie says thanks for getting levels back to normal. Rewarding view for sure.

Pectinia says stay back or I'll zap.

Because it tested low on ICP and everyone said get it back up.

I listen to my cronie forefathers
I wasn't arguing, just didn't want to scroll back 100 pages to figure it out, lol. I agree that ICP results are very helpful! I also know people add certain things based on specific coral needs so wasn't sure if that was the reason.
:)

Ooo I’ll keep that in mind. Guessing it be the same for Alves?
Not sure. Alveopora are in the Acroporidae family from what I read on Reef Builders. I assume Acros and Montis like iodine in the right levels so I'm guessing Alves would as well.

@StatelineReefer !!!!!

Overall the aquarium becomes colourless, dull and greyish. With extreme iodine deficiency, SPS corals lose their growth tips, increased shifting occurs and RTN-STN infections occur more frequently. With acute iodine deficiency, SPS corals shed off tissue from the base.

I dose iodine in the blind. Not the smartest thing ever, but I don't think that's the cause.

Hmm..I wonder if that could be a contributing factor.

I've never been able to keep a goni alive for 6 months. They come in glorious and start a slow descent into nothingness

Do you do Aquacultured or Maricultured? It seems like a lot of vendors sell Maricultured Gonis and typical life span is about 6 months and then they just kind of melt.

I've had both. Some "bulletproof" ones. Same story.
My Gonis were all doing good and I had my magnet leaching and didn't know it. Everything else was dying but the Gonis and Alves were thriving. I wonder if they like metals... I didn't do an ICP test, should have.

ETA: I wasn't doing any iodine supplements at the time.

Me too. They seem to be doing better with the trace I have been adding. I was going to see where this next test end up and maybe start adding iodide on top of the trace.
