Taxes finally made it in so suggestions for UV sterilizers that’s not going to break the bank would be most awesome.
New style Jebao work great. No more black residue from the plastic degrading (although it was inert and not an issue to begin with). I had one that got loaned to a few people (@Crabby48 was one) and it worked great until I had it on my holding tank outside and had it on very low flow and it froze lol.

I still plan to fix it, as it only cracked the plastic and the quartz sleeve and seals are still good. Just got to get some more plastic rods to weld it together.

I also run one on my 180 and no issues with it. Not sure why I run it, as it is tied to the return and the return is at full flow, but I run it lol.

Would you happen to have a link handy? I’m not even sure what I’m looking for

The basic one. This is on my 180 and the spare that is now cracked.

The stainless one (I have this on my koi pond)

That's what I got baby. Love that residue.

Honest haven't noticed anything from it. Lol
It was the old style that did it. Most plastic ones will do ti eventually, even the expensive ones. Only so much UV exposure they can take.

36w under a 100 bucks

36w works great for protozoan control up to about a 100 gallons when it has about 400 mph flow

13w is about 50 or so gallons when it has about 250 mph flow

Ostreopsis. It was suggested as a way to get them gone, as well as feeding more and adding pods.
OK, so we will say you have about 45-50 gallons with rock and sump not being completely full.
Now figure a 500 or so GPH pump is need, at 50% or so, that with head pressure it gets about 250. The pump will also last forever, as you will not be running it on high all the time.

I use this pump on my bio cube and it is awesome for the price. So add this and the 13w UV and you are at $130 for pump and UV.

I will say the jaebo I borrowed from Steve worked great. The best part is it’s probably cheaper then some of the other brand
