Quick dumb question @Lost in the Sauce do you have to dose Trace Elements weekly for the first batch of coral I don’t think so but might as well ask, could I just dose Foundation Elements and then once I need it Trace Elements?

I'd send in an ICP test before you get your first coral to check for Iodine levels, since the hobby grade kits are notoriously unreliable. Everything else but the big 3 are secondary and can be added, and depleted, in situ.

Was thinking of doing it now I’m definitely doing the ICP test lol. Thank you. I already have the Trace Elements on hand but wanted to ask.

You definitely don't have to.

Most salts have trace elements in them So regular water changers are already replenishing them. If they aren't getting used by a lot of coral, there are depleting quickly.
