I haven't cleaned the body of my skimmer since setting this tank up. It's so dialed in that before I took it offline due to fallow, it was pulling a reliable 1/2" of a great concentrate.

I know having a sparkling clean skimmer is sexy. Unfortunately that is the worst it will work. The build up on the inside of the neck creates drag on the outside of the cylinder creating an upflow up the center of the neck, which is exactly what you want. With a nice patina, your skimmer will work better.

Yhanks for all the help everyone to kick an addiction i have always had an issue with cleaning everythimg house garage yard so now that i know i will let nature run its course. Might help me in other aspects too hopefully not the garage though lol thats my baby
