If you are talking about the bacterials "rip clean", does not apply. That is more of a call it that to mess with someone, as what they are discussing is increasing biodiversity to stop things that a rip clean just removes and then comes back later.
Like MOAR rock. Maybe we need a post about that.

Too much rock is the issue. 400lbs in 180 or so gallons lol. Nutrients bottomed way outs the issue.

Now we have to test for rock levels. nooo
So basically, during a non-bacterial rip clean we must take out each rock, completely dry it with a hair dryer, weigh it, rinse it, dry it, reweigh it, then put back exactly 1.25 pounds of rock per gallon of water added in step 8. Then, when rinsing the sand make sure there is exactly 3.5 cubic inches per square foot of surface area of the tank?

Man, you were so close it's scary. It's 3.6 cubic inches per square foot. :winking-face-with-tongue:
