Mice naturally run against walls. Setting with the trigger against the wall means they will step on it as they run. The cotton ball is for nesting. They will like thier nest with it. Mice will grab the cotton ball and tug setting off the trap. Peanutbutter they can lick off.

It's hard to tell by photo alone. Wish I marked the size with something in the other. More of a memory shock and recognizing the growth myself.

2 years ago. Memory says around 3 inches across. This was probably pretty close to when I first got it.

If only I could figure out why my massive cynarina is pouting lately. The other 2 are happy as can be, all 3 acanthos are doing great. My big pale cynarina has barely been expanding, just enough to not be skeleton
