It's already been said, but it is rarely worth it for carpet specifically and often may not be worth it for other flooring types.
I refinished the wood floors in my house, but I made a lot of beginner mistakes. This type of work is also little material cost and mostly labor, so I saved a lot of money by spending my time.

With carpet, there are still a lot of issues that an experienced layer can avoid and the material is the main cost with minimal labor cost. I've learned and been advised to leave carpet to the professional with the tools and experience.

I'm a DIY-er, but carpet is a case in my opinion where it is best left to the professionals since the labor is relatively cheap and still requires a fair bit of experience to do properly.

+1 agreed, and...

+1 again!
I didn't say earlier, but I currently have carpet and I want to replace it with vinyl tile or something like that. Also, in my case I think my time is worth more than what I would spend paying someone else to do it.

Oh yeah, I would probably take on the vinyl tiling myself, though I might regret it later.
On valuing your time, I'm not understanding: do you mean that you would rather have the time for something else and pay someone to do the work, or do you mean that you feel like it is better to use your time on the project instead of paying someone since it saves you money?

I’m torn between following your advice and just going for it. I’m most likely going to be doing a laminate floor. Or paying someone to do it. Lol still undecided

I think either decision can be the right one based on your own personal variables, so you make the decision!

Mexican hot chocolate brownies straight from the oven

Those look good!
Now I'm hungry, but I'm glad it is not far from my suppertime for family night and Thursday is also the night a family member makes some special dessert!

A) Yum
B) What makes it Mexican?
I don't know for sure, but maybe Mexican "hot" chocolate brownies? ...unless it's just specific recipe heritage?
I assumed the "hot" indicated the inclusion of pepper, like cayenne.

So regular hot chocolate is just you know sugar and chocolate and milk. Mexican hot chocolate is that plus spices generally.

Based it off of that.

It is regular brownie recipe for the most part, but with cayenne, cinnamon, and a little bit of orange zest

I must be adorable to all of you old salts with my childish glee at discovering things with my LR and first corals hahahah
I'm no old salt and share the same childish glee! I don't have ocean live rock (yet), but I really enjoyed discovering a piece of rock in my FOWLR tear-down/transfer that looks like live rock (except for algae of any type, since it was on the bottom and mostly buried in sand.

I found a lot of interesting creatures (aside from lots of bristleworms, copepods, and amphipods) and also even discovered a bit of orange sponge! I wish now that I had more pictures, but I was too busy working to take pictures...

I can hardly wait to order some real ocean live rock for my 125-125 build once set up and watch for all the wonderful little things!
