I added in a few more rocks and turned out the tank so it works more like a peninsula. I like being able to look at all three sides. Some my rocks are starting to turn green, especially the ones closest to the window.
Also I've added a few occupants...
Sexy shrimp dancing on my Duncan
A gorgonian and some kind of sps
A blasto that I think someone might be eating? I swear that used to be a full polyp...
A mushroom and some zoas
Sps... Stylocoeniella
Some kind of birdsnest
I think they're all doing well so far. I lost one sexy shrimp but the other 2 are doing good. The zoas have gained a head. I'm excited to see everything grow.
Well the blasto isn't being eaten but I think it gets stomped on a lot by the Hermies and closes up a little.
I've had some deaths. Someone killed my cerith snail and is now proudly wearing it's shell. Also someone killed one of the crabs... Likely also for a shell?
I went to the LFS for another snail or two and came home with 2 turbo snails (gosh they're big), a hammer frag, and a green clown goby. The goby mostly hides but it's fun finding him.
I keep messing with scape and coral placement. Things are looking good I think.
So I bought some pods and some pom pom algae from algae barn. The pom pom was upgraded from "a tennis ball size" to... Several softballs worth? It's pretty. Maybe I can find some locals who might want some.
I've also added 3 peppermint shrimp, a translucent cave goby and a neon goby. No more animals. I don't think they'll fit especially with all that macro algae.
Welp... It's been a while. Tank is still going! Somehow all that pom pom algae in the tank before sharing with locals caused issues and I lost a few corals.
Just this week I rearranged my rocks which was too much for my green clown goby. He sadly did not make it. Everyone else looks happy though.
Before
After
There's a bit more open sand which I think my cave goby is appreciating. And I think the corals are in better locations (hard to tell in this photo...)
