Thought I’d share my very limited control area and what I use for amendments

New corals from AquaSD came today. Frogspawn(man it’s small!), Acan(supposed to be Tiffany Rim blue outer polyp, but looks like maybe they gave me a rainbow), Alveopora(just starting to open up), Green BTA, Acro(nice green and only $10), and freebie Psammacora (I think). Bunch of other shots of the day as well. Had water change and some general cleaning done today. And yes I have confirmed my damsels both enjoy eating some kinds of sps as I had to move my Pcoci and take a chance with the Acro and place it right away.

My Tiffany rim acan from ~year ago turned entirely red. Not sure what the driver was--maybe weak lighting (at the time ran a Fluval led). Still looks great, but missing that teal rim!
Suppose it could be the light. I’ve been doing some adjustments to that. Less white and red/green and longer duration low level blues at night. Seems to be helping general coral happiness but most of the pics seen are carefully orchestrated and set up. I still think they’re pretty tho. As you can see in this pic they’ve gotten even more orange in the short time they’ve been in the tank.

I've got some Blue Rim Acans. The stock photo shows a lot of blue:
161-_58A9094.jpg

They're mostly red in my tank. Some of the green and blue shows but nothing like this picture. I run pretty intense blue but not a ton of PAR that I'm aware of. It sits in the middle of my tank as far as height goes.

Yeah, I’ve got mine at the bottom on the sand for the moment. I’ll probably put it about where that Acan mini colony I’ve is as far as height

Hey, get me a better picture of that freebie if you can. It doesn't look like a Psammy from the picture. Maybe a Cyphastrea or Favites?

Here’s better pics I think. You may very well be right about Cyphastrea. Plus a good shot of my new BTA. It’s nothing like yours but I love the bright green color.

Might that be a cyphastrea?
Consensus is Cyphastrea then. Part of the problem I had with id when I first got it in the tank was that its already fairly flat body was somewhat withdrawn and didn’t notice the polyps. With the help from that pic you’ve shown it’s obvious that it’s a Cyphastrea

Well my bta decided to wander when the lights went off. When I looked in the tank this morning before work it was nowhere to be seen, even when the blues were briefly turned on. Hopefully I’ll see it when I get home tonight.

Mine was hiding way back in the shadows for a day. My RFA disappeared for over a month.

Just afew few new pics. The usual FTS and a few others. The alveopora is starting to look good and most of my corals seem fairly happy except the larger torch and a couple Gonis. The so called poci is alive but I don’t know if it’ll survive after being chomped on by the damsel.

So feeling a bit depressed today over the tank. My larger torch hadn’t been happy for several days and then decided to bail(I assume since I didn’t see any polyps in the skeleton), algae still trying to take over mostly due to high tds. Need to get a rodi or at least add some distilled water for a temp fix. My blenny acting off today, looks a bit thin. When fed did eat a bit but not with usual gusto. Otherwise looks healthy. Hanging on the rocks on the top toward rear. Not all is bad. My cheapo acro that testing the waters once again with is still alive. My Micromussa are looking good and seem like an almost identical in terms of color to the ones I lost. Still no sight or sign of the bta since the first day. The freebie I got is definitely a Cyphastrea, as shown when polyps are out.
