I don't think you can win that oneIf we can't admit to our kids that we're giving them advice from experience then why would they believe us when we tell them not to do something...
The picture above is evidence that you can't knock sense into their heads. Despite it being the only reason he is probably still around I've caught him twice this week "forgetting" his helmetSometimes it helps more when it comes with a slap to the back of the head also.
Yeah, my son refuses to wear a helmet. There's even a really interesting story about a time on the canal crossing at Thunderbird and 59th Ave where he probably would have died without it but...

All we know is he got a concussion and I spent 6 hours in the ER with him. During that time he had the memory of a goldfish. On average for the first 2 hours he would randomly look at me and say "what year is it" every 4.5 minutesYeah, my son refuses to wear a helmet. You guys ever go to the canal bike path? At 59th and Thunderbird there's a steep downhill/uphill bypass for the people wanting a bit of a challenge. Well, I went down it on my mountain bike and my son decided to follow on his little scooter (I forget what those ones are called - the stupid popular ones). I was halfway up the other side when my wife yelled that he was following me. I turned around in time to see him get to the bottom, and the scooter stopped - he didn't. He flew, hit the ground (asphalt), tumbled, and finally stopped. I thought for sure he was dead, but he jumped up and said "I'm good!". Still waiting on the final bill. But without insurance it would have been over $30k

And then he dropped like a sack of potatoes - yep, definitely dead. Then he started screaming about how much it hurt.
No broken bones, helmet kept his head and face safe but he has road rash from his ankle to his shoulder.
We haven't. He was coming home on Northern from his job. He doesn't remember anything. Sprained wrist, road rash on his face and a concussion. We didn't even know how he got home considering how out of it he was.You guys ever go to the canal bike path?
