Sounds like a plan! I haven't dosed any P04 in a couple days and last test showed 0.00!

I can say that my N03 did come down with dosing, but it's only a temporary fix. Seriously looking into a sulfur reactor set up.

My battle is cyano and has been. I have been rack my brain to figure out what is cause factor.

Got to be a carbon source feeding it.

Got to be a carbon source feeding it.
There there are two option for me to pursue then, stop dosing the NP Pro which is a synthetic carbon and or change out my RO filter those would be the only two sources of carbon getting into the system. Since it is so blazing hot here, I am going to clean the sump pumps and check to see if I have any leakage of rust or carbon.

@jsker do you have anything in your sump other than the mangroves?

Just the mangrove, I need to go to the beach and pick up a couple of more pods to start one or two more.

I'm just wondering if you have the room ro get something in there that will out compete it for nutrients. Heck maybe even jack up your silicate to get some detritus going and starve it out that way.

Is this for the cyano?

The concept is. Yes.

Follow me, if you have nutrients in your tank, chances are you're going to have some kind of algae. It may be cyano, it may be bubble, it may be dino, but chances are it's going to be something. At the end of the day whatever is the most aggressive is probably going to win out. So my thought process is, if you've been battling Cyano forever and it seems to keep out competing everything and you can't make it go away, try either

1. A basic Alage like Detritus to see if that will out compete it. (Typically they love silicates so I suggested that)

or

2. Establish a macro alage in your fuge which you know will.

(I have mangroves like you do, but we both know they're pretty to look at and not much else.)

I will try the @Amoo algae eradication method at report back here

So true about the mangroves

I just took a play from @revhtree Playbook link and upped my Auto water change to 12 liters a day or 15% a week.

Nice. Water changes seem to be making a comeback in a few threads I read (except @Flippers4pups going opposite that trend). A tried and true method I have always believed in.

There is all kind of thoughts on this. I would not change my water for months at a time in the past. Growing a reef requires dosing no matter what, even with auto water change based on consumption. I now dose a lot less then before the auto water change and expect to dosing to increase once I get things settled in on the amount I should change. This has taken months and I have lost corals and I still have sometime before my system settles in on auto pilot.

Super Saturday parameters
Alk has been steady for two weeks now, and the mg and Ca number have dropped and I also up the dose. The mg number is most likely wrong but I will check again tomorrow. Vaccumed the sand bed and upped the AWC amounts to 6488 ml daly for a 15% water change per week

Since upping the auto water change I decided not to clean the glass. This is glass after 7 days.
IMG_5552.JPG

The glass would be so dirty after two day, this is pretty good for a week. Tomorrow is change the filters and clean the tank day.
