MTS, or multi-tank syndrome, affects many reefers. It starts with one tank; next thing you know, you have a house full of tanks. Do you suffer from multi-tank syndrome, and what are you doing about it? Photo Credit: @centerline

I have a balanced approach to MTS. I just took down my oldest tank to put up the newest. Five tanks is my cap, not including the fish qt tank. Any more than five tanks and maintenance lags on one of them. But now all my tanks are in the Reef Cave!

Love your setup! :star-struck:

206g main system, and 90g show/display frag tank.

I’m constantly thinking about setting up an acro pico lately, but I need a proper way to control temperature and I just can’t justify the cost of a chiller for this size..

I have suffered from MTS in the past. I have had as many as 5 at one time but found that I did not have the temperament or personality to tend to them all equally so I took tanks down, consolidated and now for years have kept it at 2; the display and the sump/fuge.

Your setup looks good! My main display is a 240-gallon system. I also have three stock tanks for growing corals in my basement, totaling 180 gallons.

It's a slippery slope. Wanted a 120g in my office at work as my re-entry into the hobby. Needed a QT setup so I also have a small AIO on my desk for that. The next thing I know I am building a 65gal setup so in my mother's living room that I maintain for her. That still doesn't give me a place the QT corals or inverts...

I had 4 tanks in the fish room so in the process of consolidating into one massive tank (360g + 93g). This is not counting the main 150g in the kitchen. I think that I’m “done” (famous last word) after this one since the home boss complained that we got too much water in the house! Trying to cope with MTS but my therapist said that there’s no cure… Instead of getting more tanks, I just get bigger ones! ;)

Mts was more prevalent when I was into cichlids... I had 28 tanks and over 1000 gallons of water in a 3rd floor 3 bedroom apartment. I only have 2 tanks currently

Well, I just pulled the trigger last night!! Have a Fusion Pro 2 40L,with stand, in the works! Innovative Marine is saying it will ship within 72 hours from time of purchase. Oh, they also threw in a free 15 gallon ATO resivoir ($220 value) for free to help sell me. I feel like a kid on Christmas LOL!

I will eventually be getting a 120 gallon tank, but I am not doing this yet, since we plan to move out west in 2-3 years. I plan to take both my tanks with me (other tank is a 20 gallon JBJ cube).

Everyday I fall more and more in love with this hobby. Which is rather funny, since getting our first tank for "a couple of saltwater fish" was my wife's idea.

The goal was one office tank. The clowns decided not to play nice, so they went to a separate nano. Now new fish showed up sonset up another nano observation tank. Bought a larger tank that's in the warehouse getting modded out. This is not going as planned...
