Mixing salt in tank

As long as you don’t have live sand either, yes you can. Just make sure it mixes really well. And you don’t get clumps of undesolved salt stuck between rocks that will slowly raise the salinity too much.

Hi everyone, I’m currently setting up my first reef tank. And was wondering if i can just fill my tank with rodi water (i have no live stone yet) and mix the salt in the tank? Or do i need to mix the saltwater separately and then pour it in?
You can absolutely do the initial mix in the tank.
