Whenever I have a power outage down here in Florida I have 1 Mitras 7206 that won’t power on afterwards. My other 5 have no issue at all. I have to unplug it from the power brick and plug it back in to get it back on. Any ideas on how to cure this ?

It might be time to replace the PSU.

I had the same problem with several of my brand new lights. GHL ended up replacing my power supplies, which fixed the problem.

Great. Thanks. Yeah this is actually my newest one. Has a new style power supply compared to the 7 year old ones. Guess they don’t make em like they used to.

I too have this problem with one of my (3) Mitras - and have had it since day 1. I just thought it was a quirk of some kind. It has even happened during a lighting cycle once or twice. I come in and it is off with the blue lights on the control panel blinking. I have to power cycle fully and sometimes two or three times to get it to come back on.

Mine does none of that, just all black. I unscrew the plug to the power supply then reconnect it and the light fires up. It’s a PIA !

It happens both ways for me. Sometimes all black, but it also gets "stuck" with the blue blinking. Sometimes a power cycle works, but other times I do have to remove the connector. I think this is likely due to the PSU having a capacitor in it that does not fully power cycle the board in the Mitras by simply unplugging the PSU.

It took a lot for me to get GHL to replace my power supplies. They kept insisting that they had never seen this problem before, so the problem must be at my end. But now that they know it's a problem, hopefully they will replace your power supply without a battle.

I have the same problem with mine but It does not happen every time like it did when they were new.

Same here - my issue is somewhat random chance if there is a power outage. It typically happens to the left hand Mitras. I think it happend to the other one one time and that is why I assumed it was a quirk or bug of some kind that had a random chance of happening during bootup due to the residual power leaving the onboard controller in a bad state and the PSU not allowing it to fully power cycle.

The crapping out otherwise (no power outage) has happened only a few times. (2 that I can remember).

I’ve never had them go out other than not starting up after a power outage. It only happens on my newer power supplies too. Happened on my 2 units with newer supplies my other 4 with the old school power supplies have never had that happen. I have to assume it’s something with the power supplies that are covered with the white GHL sticker. Those are the only ones that act that way.

I would not know how to differentiate new from old or know which I have. I just got a new fixture and the PSU matches the other two.... I assume therefore that all are "new".

My guess (as I said above) is that the PSUs maintain some type of residual voltage (capacitance based) during a power outage and the Mitras board never fully reboots and is left in a crashed state. Unplugging the outboard side connector forces the Mitras to lose power and reboot next time power is applied.

I have the same issue with two of my three LX7206 lights. They are all the newer PSU. I'm no EE so I won't speculate on the cause. According to GHL there are capacitors that need to discharge completely and unplugging for the light for a couple minutes should get it workinging (link to there thread).

I bought another powerbar so I could delay startup in case of short power outage (happened two days into a two week vacation) and remotely power off/on the lights to get them going again if needed. Turns out disconnecting power or unplugging them for extended period of time doesn't guarantee they will power up correctly. GHL replaced one of my power supplies due to this issue. I think that is the light that now powers on consistently.

I was organizing my wiring last week and had the lights unplugged for a couple hours. I'm pretty sure the capacitors were discharged by then. When I plugged them back in only one light was working. At this point I go straight to the circular connector and that usually works in one or two tries.

The three plugs on the lower powerbar are my lights. That was a waste of money.

I guess with that theory you could put a deferred start on the outlet to cure that problem. If waiting several hours didn’t do it then the deferred start won’t either. Bummer.

That did not work for me. It didn't matter how long my lights were unplugged. They would not come up. GHL ended up replacing my power supplies.

I assume that this is still a bleeder capacitor issue. Poor PSU design or QC likely. It can be worked around with hardware in the MItras design but a different PSU (or at least one that behaves properly if this is a flaw) would fix it.

I went crazy trying to do firmware updates on these because of this... and like I said, I have one Mitras that really misbehaves but chalked it all up to a design oversight (as in it was annoying but normal). It sounds like some of the PSUs perform better than others.
