@bakbay here’s where it’s at currently. So far I’ve moved over a few montis, Duncan’s and a few other things. I still have a lot left to move over though.

Love the aquascape on the new tank - very open and would be awesome to see the top filled with acros!

Are you planning to eventually shut down the cube or will run 2 tanks?
Once I get everything transferred over I’m shutting down the cube. Im planning on Monti caps on either side and stylos in the center. Maybe eventually acros but for now it will me more of a Monti and stylo dominant mixed reef

Today was pod day again, round two. Thank you @Dinkins Aquatic Gardens for the Apocyclops pods, Tisbe pods and Amphipods! I’m just stacking my bio diversity so hopefully the uglies aren’t as bad and the pods colonize in preparations for a mandarin dragonet eventually.

I moved over my stylos, more zoas and my birds nests. All that’s left in the 14 is the montis, some snails and hermits and my clowns.

I got the pleasure of meeting another local reef2reefer today, @DeeBee . Super nice guy with an awesome tank. He hooked me up with a few nice pieces which are adjusting nicely to their new home.

Sunday tank update!
The tank has been putting right along. I’m finally able to get my alk consumption figured out and am properly dosing now. So far I haven’t had to do a water change and with my nutrients trending downward I don’t see a need to yet. I’m going through the uglies also with Cyano rearing it’s ugly head but that’s not a huge concern yet. Daily doses of microbacter 7 and weekly doses of homemade reef snow spiked with MB7 should handle it fairly quickly.
I took some paly frags to a LFS today and they traded me for what I’ve been looking for, a platygyra acuta. I was stoked to find one locally and it’s not a bad sized colony. I mounted it on a 3” disc and so far it’s looking better than it did in the store. They also gave me a neon green Florida ricordea Yuma. One of the clerks plucked it off the rockwork in their main display tank so understandably it’s a little mad. I also picked up a purple tip hammer on the cheap from another LFS. The only things left in the 14g are montipora and they are getting weekly dips for nudibranchs and I’m hoping they will get a clean bill of health in a couple weeks, they are looking pretty good and are starting to put on new growth despite the run in with MENs

Tonight’s testing results.
Sg - 1.026
Ph - 8.15
Po4 - .02
No3 - 5
Alk - 8.1
Mg - 1380
Ca - 420

My target numbers are
Sg - 1.026
Ph - 8.15
Po4 - .01/.05
No3 - 5/10
Alk - 9
Mg - 1350
Ca - 450

I dose brightwell reef code A&B along with magnesium as needed. Even though I have 59 gallons of water I’m bringing up my numbers slowly by dosing 10ml of A&B each day until i reach my targets.

tonight is my first real test of my battery/inverter setup. Had a strong storm drop a tree across the power lines tonight at around 9:30. I hooked a 5w 3rd gen koralia up to my tiny inverter on my 18AH LiFep04 battery. I have it set very shallow where it will suck a bit of air from time to time and it’s also making a gyre flow in the tank. It’s times like this that I’m glad I bought this back up setup. My initial run down test with an 8 watt draw gave me 12 hours. I also have an extra car battery fully charged if I need it.

How is it going? Power back yet? I am always worried about hurricane multiday power outages.

It’s 12:30 pm and they just got it back on. My little battery setup lasted the whole 15 hours. I’m quite pleased! I did have the car battery standing by if I needed it but I didn’t. It looks like I’m going to be adding a second LiFePo4 battery just in case. Having 30 hours of power for a pump will definitely make me sleep better.
