Got the brackets up this weekend. Much nicer look than hanging I think. I still need to tweak it.

I was going to use 2 SBreef actinic bars as part of my t5 hybrid. I had 1 already. I had just gotten a second and was setting it up when I found the power supply was sent to me missing a screw in the housing and not working. These these power supplies for the bars come right from China, and I got a dud. To make it worse I called the phone # on website. It was a big company that had purchased SB and then sold them off. All they could give me was the warranty and email addresses. At the end the lady, who I could tell could care less, said “good luck”. No response since Monday, I put my Hydra HD 52 into the fixturn ang getting ready to dispute charges.

I grabbed some coral from AquaSD 30% off today. So another update coming.

I also had a delivery from algeabarn , Reefcleaners, and LA. All have been great and made a noticeable difference in the tank. More to come later. For now some coral from AquaSD

Hi friends and family. Everyone is well yes.

I have no idea where I left off, and don’t want to go back. So quick update,

The light issue with SBReef. I had to place, and won a dispute with paypal for a light they sent me with a bad power supply and never responded. So FYI on them as to my experience.

Aqua SD stiff is doing great. I am also doing great killing them. I don’t understand. the encrusting corals do great. I cannot keep acans and such. Acros and digis great, favias 50/50. I need to stick with more of encrusting and acros.

I have taken up phyto culture. I loved the algae barn PNS Sno and ocean magic. So I am doing my own phyto. It seems hard until you actually do it. On my second batch and going good. Basically you need any lamp from around the house or HD, a 8$ grow light bulb, an 8$ timer, glass bottle that you clean carefully and sterilize with alcohol , air pump with line, salt water aNd some starter/fertilizer

I am now testing out the cheap brine hatcher to see how that works. Took 3 minutes to set up.

Oh, and I have 4 clowns from LA. I swore I would never own clowns since every clown every ever has or will have Brook or velvet

I think I am accidentally growing phyto in my 15 gallon. I was adding it for the corals... I think I was heavy handed cause now the water is green. I need to look at it under the microscope and make sure. Lol

This is crazy, baby shrimps in less than 24 hrs that took 3 minutes to set up.

Just need the prime rib

Really getting into the phyto and now the brine. Tank is looking crystal clear and clean. Think some of it has to do with the phyto. Coral growth is looking good.

Now trying to grow the brine to mature shrimp. See how that goes.

So far I am almost ready to compete with algae barn

Photo update,

I think I have stumbled across a formula that is working for me. I have been growing and dosing my own phyto daily. I have switch to Seachem Fuel product. Growth is noticeable. I never seen actual signs of growth, just noticed subtle changes over time until now. And the rock is clean enough to eat off of, ask the fish.

Hello all,

Been crazy buzzy .....

Here are a few growth shots. My tanks is down to a simple 2 part dosing with Mag, the phyto and brine along with the Aquavitro Fuel. I am getting great growth. I just need to find something for color. I put in an orange tree sponge to see if I can support it longe term.

Only filter is the sump with a skimmer and UV light.

Looking good! My corals seem to be acclimating to their new tank. Noticed a lot more feeders out yesterday. Even more this morning.

I need to come by and see your tank one day!

Been away for a while, not posting much, not much going on with tank.

Started working on it again last few weeks. Just finished overhaul/clean up underneath. Slowly been manually removing the stupid Paly’s everywhere to make room for corals.

Howdy all,

Long time, no text

Figured a 1 year update could not hurt. About 2 months back I decided to make a change, The colonies I have were getting too big, and with my Palys I have dominating every inch of rock something had to give. I pulled out all the live rock, pulled all the coral I could from the rock (most were encrusted) and put new dry reefsaver in.
