Little update, I went through an entire CO2 5# tank in about 6 weeks. It almost certainly had to be leaking slowly that entire time. Not a big deal since I noticed and had another tank but really annoying.

Working on my weekly water change tomorrow. Here is my water change station. I have a retired vectra M2 connected to a BRS heat controller. Using the pumps head the water mixes until the desired temperature is reached and then shuts off.

Really happy with how the Sunset Millepora is looking lately....

I recently broke my Carbondoser CO2 regulator and luckily had my old Uniweld one on hand. Since I have a PH controller for my reactor I don't think I care about replacing the $400 unit. I also just swapped out the 5 lb tank for a 15 lb tank. Hoping this can last me an entire year before refilling.

My Carribean Tang showing off some interesting color patterns today. He goes almost ghost white sometimes when I'm doing tank maintenance. I'll have to document it.

Finally had time to clean the Calcium Reactor.

I top it off for about 6 months and then take it down to clean what media remains and add new. It can look full before cleaning and then there 6" of room at the top. It just piles up as mush over time.

Edit: with no change in CO2 or effluent rate the effluent alkalinity went from 13.7 to 33!! I had to dilute the sample to get a check in my Hanna reader in order to test. I also made some changes to the CO2 rate to mirror up with the tank demand again. Note I topped of with ARM coarse versus extra coarse media for greater surface area.

My December maintenance log recap. I do not usually mess around with my calcium reactor this much which triggered a signal for cleaning.
