I have all the safeties in place for my auto water change through the dos qd. Autowatertopoff is shut off from 0600-0800 while the auto water change is moving water. Shuts off the water change if the level drops 1 gallon or so using the liquid level sensor, 235 gallon tank. I was at work and saw my 20 gallon ato went empty. Then my tank level started to drop which triggered the dos to shut off. My output showed that it didn’t move any water this morning and my input said it moved the normal 9500ml of new saltwater to the tank. Which was weird. On apex, it had the status of my dos at off and I moved the grey tab to off. I get home at noon, only because a hurricane is coming. I walk into the room with my dos to find it sucking water out of my tank at full speed and my just full 20 gallon ato completely empty. The dos was running even though my logic shut it off, and it said it was off in fusion. This is absolutely unacceptable and dangerous. I have tens of thousands of dollars worth of coral, fish, and inverts. My salinity is at 32 ppt. I thought this kind of thing was insanely unlikely to impossible with the apex and dos. I understand that it is going to fail at some point when a line gets clogged. But to just get stuck on after the logic shut it down, with absolutely no way to shut it off without have to be home to unplug it after it drains your ato.

There’s been a couple other people who have this exact same issue in the past month or so with the new QD dos and the new AOS firmware.
You need to contact apex support

Agreed this is unacceptable and you should call Neptune. Likely due to the AOS updates as mentioned above. I always use mechanical fail-safes (float valve) in addition to my apex control for this reason. Another nifty fail-safe you can build into your code is “When On > 010:00 Then OFF”. This will automatically change the state of an outlet to completely OFF (grey slider off) and stop all automation if the outlet is running for more than 10 minutes. I use it on my ATO program. You have to manually change the slider back to AUTO once you correct the problem that caused it to stick on.

Yes I had this in place, my virtual outlet shut off the dos. And the dos could not turn back on until I manual reset the virtual outlet. It shut it off through its logic, yet it was still running.

The 10:00 thing is a good idea
