I read many of the comments to your question but they all seem to be long term solutions to keep you from making the same mistake down the road, i.e. use RODI.
An immediate solution to resolve the Tap Water Chemical issue is a Water Conditioner. You can run down to your local Pet Smart or other fish store and pick up a bottle.

Can add conditioner at this point? Any recommended brand ?

I personally have no reason to believe that the claims that water conditions detoxify heavy metals has any basis in reality. One could devise such a thing, and some may do it (using a strong chelator such as EDTA), but IMO, some almost certainly do not.
