Shoutout to the people at @LiverockRocks for their outstanding customer service. I was supposed to receive the live sand and rock on Thursday, but a late-night surprise by the TSA changed our plans. Without missing a beat, TBS emailed me with a new delivery plan and made sure that my shipment was in the air this morning.

There is one potential worrisome hitchhiker, and I’m hopeful someone here can chime in. When I was pouring the sand in, I noticed a very fast moving white worm(s) darting around the tank. I am guessing they are some sort of detritus worm, but can someone ID for certain?

To which crab are you referring? With help from another user, we were able to make a positive ID on the Shellback crab, although not sure what species. That little crab is cute! I hope it's reef safe; do let us know when you find an i.d. on it. Beautiful live rock!! I can't wait!! Sigh!

Have not yet been able to identify the little white crab with horizontal stripes on its carapace. Best guess seems to be some kind of porcelain crab, so that’s what we’ve been running with.
Hard to tell, unfortunately. I’m considering sending a picture to the Biology faculty at a local college to learn if they might be able to assist in identifying this crab.I'm referring to the little white one. Does it have the feathery filter-feeding appendages? I can't tell. If so, you probably nailed the i.d. already.
Just feed him well. He'll get over it.I appreciate the correction! I guess I should apologize to the peppermint…
