I continue to ask myself, "why an AIO" just to gut it and replace/upgrade everything? Put a 4.5gal reservoir and an Auto Aqua Smart ATO nano in today. No more refilling the ATO daily :)

On another positive note, my clown goby made his first appearance out of his cave. Now know where he is residing 23hr and 59min per day.

Was an eventful night. Woke up at 1am by the smoke detector. New ATO siphon break definitely didn't work. Tank was down to 31 salinity and water was every where. Have to figure out what went wrong after work.

Glad you are safe!! That could have gone badly!
Was very fortunate. Only equipment hurt was the ATO plug and the power strip. Perfect storm. Power strip fell off its mount and the water came right from above. Thanks for the kind words!

So I got a little trigger happy on some live sales way too soon, but I'm going to make the best of it. What's everyone's thoughts on flow for this tank and it being SPS dominant, but mixed.

Currently have the 2k gyre on the back wall with the flow going the direction of my lovely artwork below. I'm thinking of adding a mp10, nero 3, octo pulse 2 on the back wall where the yellow circle is to maybe clean up anything that gets stuck behind the rock work.

What's your thoughts? Or perhaps make my gyre vertical in the corner, but then where would you put another pump?

Here's my latest update.

All planned fish are in the tank.
Six line wrasse
2 clown fish
Clown goby
Lawnmower blenny
Sailfin xsmall
Hippo xsmall

Cleaner shrimp
1 bumble bee snail
3 margarita snails
3 blue leg hermit
3 red tip hermit

Just ordered the Aquamaxx Bullet-2 and will probably get a Nero 3 for the post above. I've had tangs in small tanks in the past and have successfully rehomed them. These guys are about an inch big. Reef Beauties really sent the perfect fish.

Have you thought about removing one side of the gyre and capping it? I feel like I recall reading that you could do that, and at 25g I'm sure it'd still be enough flow -and- smaller footprint in a tank where space is at a premium.

I think it might look better aesthetically with it vertical off in a corner, and it seems like you could get more flow around the rockwork there. With the current setups it looks like flow might be reduced along the AIO behind the rocks? I could be completely wrong, but those were just my initial thoughts.

I never heard about the capping of these. I may have to look into that either way. I had already received my mp10, so last night I put the gyre in a corner, vertically and the mp10 a little higher and out front on a panel that is only 1/2 visible. But this morning I didn't like it and put it back, except the mp10 is where I talked about in my picture, blowing out from behind the rock work.

I'm going heavy sps, so more flow the better. Appreciate the reply though! Thanks for the knowledge!

Okay...

Last night we added a mp10 in Nutrient export mode, low intensity. It's aimed behind my rock work where I don't believe flow was getting to. This morning I added the Aquamaxx Bullet-2. Very nice piece of equipment. It's running and breaking in. The gyre is on gyre mode, 4sec @ 10% and 6sec @ 40%. Anything over that re-arranges my sand.

Corals came off their plugs and into where I hope they strive. I got way too trigger happy early in this tanks life to buy this many corals. I didn't even realize how many I had gotten until they arrived lol. dang weekend live sales! I also got a great pack from @coral reeftank . Don't hesitate to buy from him. Pics with crappy phone to follow.

Inkbird controller also added since I couldn't dial in the finnex heaters. Always seemed to be in the 80s and I'm targeting 78.

Salinity - 35
pH - 7.8
Alk - 8.4
Cal - 510
Phos - .18
NItrate - 20
What's the preferred Magnesium test kit?

Dosing:
4ml Red Sea Nutrition AB+ every other day
.25ml TM Bacto-Balance daily

Fish fed every other day: frozen mysis, rods original and coral, and Hikari Bio-Pure brine shrimp.

As promised, terrible zflip 3 phone pics in pro mode.

Par meter will come in the next couple days. I took a couple of initial readings at the highest point of the rock and they were considerably lower than what I expected. So I add a piece of rock and will let that settle before I'm back in there. I do not like to go into my tank anymore than I have to.

Bro, I would give it 6 months before adding SPS.
It's a bit too late for that. Not to mention, I don't believe I've ever waited six months for SPS. Appreciate the input though!!

Skimmer still in break in mode I believe. It's kind of loud, but another thread said that it took a couple of weeks to quiet down. I can live with that.

This morning I decided I wanted to test a couple times today to see what happens. Just Nitrate and Phosphate mostly. (Not chasing numbers, but observing I like to say :) )

Does this seem accurate for tests 8 hours apart with no feeding? I did add a new rock to the tank last night though.

Hanna Testers:

10am
Nitrate - 6.8
Phos - .02

630pm
Nitrate - 18.8
Phos - .02

Pick with extra rock in the stack.

Okay par readings with the Apogee 510. Top of rocks is about 14" from the bottom of the light. Top of water is about right in between. XR15 G5 Blue running 100% AB+ without any changes. Now to figure out how to increase par on a tank 19" long.
