Have you ever used any other macro algae? I pull out almost a basketballs worth fairly often to the point where I can't do anything with it all because it grows so fast
I haven't. I may set up a macro tank sometime, but for the refugium, I'm kind of in the mindset if don't fix what isn't broken.Have you ever used any other macro algae? I pull out almost a basketballs worth fairly often to the point where I can't do anything with it all because it grows so fast
I get it. For me I'm lazy, and chaeto fills up my reactor and grows way too quick. I know there are fancier slower growing macro algae but I don't know how they do in reactors. I could always hook up the good ol pax c-36 but considering I'm in between tanks and my largest is a 25g rn I have no idea what that would do to nutrients. I'd definitely have the space to not even have to think about harvesting but that reactor is taller than my stand......I haven't. I use to trim a bucket every couple weeks in our old system but I was always the one giving it away and now with rc and our local forum gone it’s hard to find locals who are trimming everyone wants to sell everything for ungodly amounts. Locals on fb pages have a sandwich baggie with 15 strands in it less than my dogs shed If you scratch them one time and “$15 Chaeto no lowballers”If you were in NC I give away a 1/2 of a 5 gal bucket every two weeks. You should locate a local reefer.
