I’ve been looking for a while to find what lights people recommend for the Red Sea 300xl I don’t have an infinite budget but also doesn’t have to be off brand black box I was thinking 2-3 ai hydra 32 or would that not be enough I am wanting a mixed reef with some sps any help is appreciated

Put an Orphek Icon over my 300 and I'm liking it a lot! Should be plenty of par for what you are needing.

I have 2 radion XR15 lights on my 300xl. I run them at 100% intensity on AB plus setting. They are very weak par lights but I manage to maintain an SPS dominant mixed reef tank ok.

I went with 2X AI blade grow.
you could start off with 2 then add a 3rd the glow down the rd if you felt the need.

also a fan of the reefbreeders photons...

I started my 300XL with one AI Hydra 32, for the first year it was good for softies/lps and starter sps after the one year mark.at 90% blues, 30% white it was getting around 130 - 150 part near the top of the rockwork, and 40 - 130 on sandbed.

Now iv 2 32's growing SPS nicely. Going to par testings again soon. No need to get them all at once. Hope that helps.
