No its giesemann stellar t5 with a8se fake radions in them.
1 arrived broken so currently 3 leds and 4x t5
Will go to 4x a8se

I have a noop k7 v3 pro on the wifes seahorse tank. Ill replace that with a8se when new tank comes this saturday… i dont like the discoball on the noop k7. But thats personal preference. Both are excellent lights

The main tank came from 4x coralcare v2 with 2x 80w led strips.. now on the a8se + t5 Best decision ever

The only difference is the shading and how the led shines in the water between noop k7 and the a8se correct? I have never tried a8se but have two noop k7 lights and they work wonders in my opinion.

If you watch the instagram video there are three dimmable settings connected to the light itself. I forgot exactly but it puts out different power for each mode. It basically seems like a led version of a metal halide. Personally I want to give this a try when it becomes available.

Completely different light
Noops are based/inspired by the AI light
A8se is almost 1;1 copy of radion g5 pro..

Its 200 real watts 105 degree hei optics. Slightly different app, less loud of a fan, less shimmer, way higher spread and similar par but over a bigger surface

Noops are fine, i run one on my cube, the a8 is in my opinion far superior, as i cant stand the shimmer on the noops, and like the colour rendering on the a8 more

But both are very good especially for the price, noops k7 is cheaper (130 ish shipped) against the a8se 166usd without shipping (190 with ups express shipping)

I was planning on setting up a 8ft x 3ft tank and was wondering what lights would work best for my needs? It’s a fiberglass trough meant for growing out coral. I was eying some used Xr30 g3 radions. Wondering what people think about getting used vs new led lights. If I had to go new my choice would be xr15s g5 rather than xr30. If I were to get the xr30 I would get a supplemental light like an Orphex in the future to prevent shading of corals.

Any advice is welcome.
My tank is 96” x 36” (front to back) x 32” (top to bottom). Have 6 - XR 30 G6’s - more than enough. Only run up to about 60% at peak. Par towards the top is 350+

I highly recommend Orphek. You would have great coverage with 4 units. I've got 3 over my 6 x 3' footprint tank. Having used many different brands of LEDs I have found Orphek to be the best and their customer service has been terrific. There are usually some for sale... I do have a friend that will be selling 4 units in fact (Gen4 V2 with factory iCon upgraded internals).
