Hello All,
About a month and a half ago I decided to buy a new reef light, the Cetus 2SS Singles 36 Watts 3 Channels, Red, Blue and Green. It came with these preset light schedules and this being my first reed tank I selected great barrier reef. The corals appear to be doing well. My duncan has started to grow a few new heads and my hammer split once, and my rose bta is bubbly and vibrant with color, but every forum or reef guid I've read says there should be no more than 10 hours of light per day. This is 17 and a half hours of light. Has anyone else used this light or had a similar light schedule? Any recommended changes? Any input is appreciated, thank you for your time.

Light schedules can be subjective. I run my GHLs 12 hours a day. You need to consider the water chemistry, flow, and nutrient levels, along with the light settings and duration. I have found that what works for one person doesn't always work for another. I suggest you fine-tune your system based on your results.

Since your coral are doing well, I would only adjust in small portions over an extended time frame. Maybe something like 5% every 2-3 weeks. you really need to find a setting and stay there. Don’t move the light intensity too much or too often. Stability is also a factor. I only run 10 hours of light and 1.5 hours moon.
