I'll start off with my little slice, white balance needs a little work (hard to do with LEDs):

All I can say is WOW Dave and Findad, beautiful. If i could remember how to post pics I would put up a "before the super salinity disaster" one. Lost 99% of SPS and most zoas are faded. But, now that the sg is back to normal things are looking better.

Jane, I have a few SPS frags. You are welcome to any of them Blue Tort, 3 variations of birdsnest, 4 Var of pocilliopora, tri-color acro and green slimer that came from you. Also have a purple w/green polyp acro. Just tell me what you would like.

hmmm all of a sudden, when I click "reply to thread" it just takes me to the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom.

Anyway, here's a FTS. For reference, the largest of the two toadstools over on the left is about 9" across, and would probably be about 13" if it was flattened out. It's hard to see much detail in a tank that's 6ft long.

I got a water change done (only a small one because I'm basically out of salt) and sucked a bunch of it out of there. There's almost no input of nutrients to the system (meaning I rarely feed the tank) but I think it was coming from some palythoas I had dying in my sump creating excess nutrients. Hopefully now that they're all dead, some large water changes will decrease phosphate and whatever other nutrients are allowing this crud to grow.

Look into adding some beneficial bacteria into the system to balance things out. like microbe lift special blend or microbacter 7....this cured my cyano issues

Yeah...I mean...I could go that route but I don't want to have to continually supplement that stuff. I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that I will not keep dosing it.

I do like the look of some of those ULNS that that stuff creates but I just don't think that it's my style.

You don't have to continue dosing it, just get one bottle of the microbe-lift special blend and dose the whole bottle per recommendation on the bottle, and see what happens. I used it once and havent had any issues since.
