Let’s talk smallish clams! Any recommendations?

Hi all!

I bought my first clam about 3 months ago now. I wasn’t sure I was into clams and got it mostly because it looked really sad at the Petco near my house. No growth rings and tiny looking. It has blossomed in my SPS tank despite a Dino outbreak and is doing really great. Nice, thick growth rings all around the rim. So now I would like to get another. Can you make any recommendations on the type of clam and any vendors you like for them? Not looking for anything crazy expensive.

They kind of come in waves of deals. Local shops are nice if possible, because you can look at them. You can buy from Petco online and they ship to you. You just have to watch for availability.

My local shops are either crazy expensive when it comes to clams (honestly I don’t know very much about clams at all so hard to know whether the prices are fair or not) and the others don’t carry them. Any species that will stay under 12 inches?

Maxima and crocea are you common smaller ones.
