I purposely keep mine in an organized chaos state. It's alot more work to cut all the zip ties and destroy what you spent hours doing to just pull something for a cleaning and spend hours putting it all back the way it was. Who sees it anyway? The only thing I do is separate out things on different strips so I know which one to pull.

Me too, but I guess the wires and how organized they are doesn't really matter it's all about the display, people love to get their hardware looking all nice and pretty for pictures, and have a tank that's hard to look at. ;)

Timely post… did anyone see the Macna video of the new Hydros Kraken?

saltwateraquarium shared it, although it’s a terrible grainy/choppy video.

it appears to be a power management unit with integrated circuitry for a DIY battery backup.

I really hope that stuff like that becomes a trend. Wire management in this hobby could be its own sub hobby.

Proud of your cable management? Ashamed of the rats nest growing inside your cabinet? Let’s see what you’re working with! Would love to see how seasoned Reefers keep their cabinets looking clean.

To get us started, I’m really pleased with how the inside of my cabinet is coming along, but I need advice on how to make the outside of the cabinet neater.

Any tips on organizing the cables coming out of the tank without compromising the drip loops?

Oh wow, I can tell the coffee hasn’t kicked in. I was looking at the image on the right and thought to myself, “Wow! This reef plumbing looks just like a computer, that’s so cool!” Took me a moment to realize…

90% of my cable management is the strategic use of 3M hooks, which I use to hang wires on out of view. That way, I don’t have to fuss with any zip ties when I need to remove or add a specific component.
