Doing final test. Water pressure on the weir box with pump off. To simulate a power outage. Normally I will have my generator hooked up if we have any long term outage. But sometimes I'm out of town.

I wonder if a battery backup is available at a reasonable price. Return pump is running at 164 watts.

I have been pondering the idea of using some led products I found for lighting. I would be using my existing 4 A360WE lights for blue and UV.
This is what I found. Tell me what you think.
#reefsquad.
This first light is a 400watt MH replacement and is insanely bright at 18,000 lumen but dimmable.

This one can run at 3 different color temperatures and is 1600 lumens and dimmable.

I think my main thoughts are trying to combat the high cost of lighting a tank thi size. 49'' × 6'

This would be a great question for @saltyfilmfolks

I can't see any reason it wouldn't work as long as you are happy with the light color.

Thank you for the reply.
I'm just trying to figure out how much supplemental blue and uv I will need

I say try the lights. HD has a great return policy. Three months down the road you don’t like, box them up and return. Save receipt

And you can take one for the team and see if they work for our tanks [emoji1417]

Its worth a shot. Like you said return them if they don't work. I think if they were not dimmable then it would be a no go.
Also I shop HD a lot.

If you have followed this thread you can see I like to DIY and think outside the box.

@prsnlty got any frags from corals we traded. Maybe in a month or so would be nice...just wondering. I have some still hanging on also have a mess of the pink zoe you gave me. It was a single when you gave it to me.

Sad but I lost a decent amount of my corals while in holding during this remodel.
