Also @Sisterlimonpot has some great ideas. I just want to clarify that I believe he doses well above the evaporation limit and is able to do so with some custom made gadgetry and super salinity solution to keep salinity in check. Just to clarify this point for those that don’t know. It’s how he can target a specific ph. I don’t know of any one else that is doing this. Targeting a specific ph may require more than a basic kalk reactor on most systems depending on demand, evaporation and such.
Check out ACI aquaculture. The whole farm is ran off of kalk that is added based on pH. There are more than you think using this principle outside of reef2reef. I use a hybrid system of 2 part and kalk. My kalk is controlled to come on when pH drops below 8.3. I do have the limit set for max daily evaporation.

I understand that, but its not typical with a kalk reactor/stirrer after the evaporation limit. That was the point I was trying to convey. I still believe that not many are using a kalk reactor/stirrer, over the evap limit, with a custom built dosing system to add super salinity solution to make up for the loss of salinity at a hobbiest level. I know many drip super saturated kalk. I should have clarified that better I guess.

I’m with you. I have no interest in playing over the evap limit. My setup is simple right now and keeps a pegged pH in the upper limits. Don’t want to complicate it.

Ha. you say that now......just wait ha

Toys are fun. I may bug @Sisterlimonpot at some point to help me out with some projects that require much more brainpower and vision than I have! I'm at my evap limit with kalk, with a calcium reactor running as well. I would love to try building his ozone reactor (im just dumping it into a skimmer), and maybe at some point going all kalk and taking down the calcium reactor.....but that a ways away. Baby steps!
