Baby Panther Grouper (not my image), best nano fish ever.

Agreed! They are very cute when tiny! I love the way they swim. Kind of reminds me of a butterfly koi. And, their white with black spots contrast is really stands out!

This was my Juvenile Clown Trigger in QT 18+ months ago. Super Cute guy.

He still Loves Nori on a clip for Breakfast. It's a must have each day.

Now he's one big hungry dude. Still friendly to other fish and my fingers. No such luck with Hard Corals since they are perfect for keeping his teeth sharp. Tank has also been stripped of all inverts (Tasty snacks).

It's just a matter of time before he outgrows the tank. We will enjoy him for as long as possible.

That is not a fair picture. I prefer the adult Chevron Tang. For sure he is not a dull grey tang. Not flashy but very far from dull. While the juvenile Chevron is nice, it cannot compare to a full size majestic adult. He has a metallic blue-green-grey that does not get capture well. My picture below do not do justice for my Chevron Tang.

Controversial but I definitely prefer the juvenile harlequin tusk.
Controversial for sure. The baby is cute, dont take me wrong but how can it be compare to a docile adult that eat food right out of our hand.
That blue tusks are right out of this world.

I love your juvenile!
I wish I knew why I don't particularly like the adult. I love bright colors and love scary even more but maybe not on the same animal?? I think it's why I want a dragon wrasse. It has the scary teeth but I somehow prefer the drab color.

I hope this is not your fish. That is one hungry Tusk. It always makes me sad to see such hungry fish.
No I should have said those are google photos. I have come close to buying a juvenile but the price and the adult has scared me away.
Thanks though! You are right that I hate seeing an underfed fish but I'm glad to say my fish are all on the fatter side.

They are such personable fish. Very bold so it is so easy to target feed them. They will not bother any invertebrates, with the exception of small snails, if you feed them well. I essentially always have Tusks and cleaner shrimp in my reef tanks. I always looking for my shrimps after vacation but so far my Tusks never got hungry enough to get off his lazy butt to go after hard to get food. They will make quick work of small dazed fish that just added to the tank so acclimation box is a must or else added after he want to sleep. Lazy full Tusk go to bed early.
So: I can’t sell Turbo snails back to LFS anymore and no baby snails. Large tank is a must. But the plus side is such an eye catcher and the one fish everybody always commented on when they see my tanks

French angelfish. They are parasite cleaners as juveniles and have such a cool coloration. They’re cool adults but not nearly as cool. Even their swimming style changes.
I love both the juvenile and adult French angels

Here's another one that looks great as a juvinile and turns into a giant, ugly brown bully as an adult. Years ago I had 5 of these that were purchased as little 1 inch juvi's.

A few months later I had 5 of these

Literally any angel fish, they all look amazing when young. I just wish one species would keep its pattern when large.

This one does. Even better as it get older.
