Yeah not daily here. Actually trying to cut back on testing as I get AFR dialed in and consistently feeding heavy. Also Hanna tests are a dollar a piece now! That’s nuts to me, though I’m still buying.
Sorry about your acro!!! Wonder what’s going on with them? Parameters seem good and other corals looking great.shipping stress is real.
Also got a Cali tort yesterday, but bought it from my LFS. Basically tortured it with my dip procedure, removed it from its plug and directly glued it to a rock (I saw some bubble algae on the plug so didn’t trust it for a second!) Luckily it was only $30 so a good tester acro I suppose. Hang in there, I bet the shipping did it and not your tank.
My main guess would just be the stress from shipping and acclimation.

Here it is a few min ago-

Def not looking like it’s gonna make it. Luckily, mine was also very cheap.

Hope yours does well. They’re very pretty

Been busy today.

Added a Lawnmower Bleny, Pintail Fairy Wrasse, and a Milka Stylophora.

Also hooked up my dosing pumps.

One set of pumps is doing a continuous water change (1.5gallon/24hours) and I have another pump dosing Tropic Marin All for Reef.

I used industrial strength double sided adhesive tape to mount the pumps to the metal stand.

Love the mad science look! Cool
Mine just looks mad… I got some work to do under and behind my stand.
It’s tough to get it all nice and organized lol. My issue is, pretty much every wire has a brick attached making it impossible to really conceal with the position of my tank.

I’m considering cutting out the section of the wall behind those wires and making an area on the other side to neatly organize it all and allow me to access things when needed.

Roughly 24 hours after a starting automated water changes and automated dosing via All for Reef. Here are my levels

10/13/24
Alk - 8.8
Ca - 433
Mg - 1325
Nitrate - 10.5
Phosphate - 0.05

I am still having to dose Phosphate, but Nitrate seems to be stable at 10 or so

I’m here to tell you using approximately 12 inches of heavy duty double sided tape rated to hold 60lb does NOT hold up Neptune DOS lol.

I replaced the tape tonight with bolts going through the metal frame and a nut on the other side. Much much much more secure.

Added a few high end torches to the tank today.

OG Indo Banana Torch
TSA Master Torch

Also a normal Orange Peel variant torch.

All of my SPS seem to have very nice polyp extension. I decided to remove the monti cap because it was starting to become overgrown with algae and bleach on one side. I think it was too far gone to really recover. I’ll also be adding a new green stylo. When I do, I’ll remove both the blue and green stylo that lost half of their polyps from the Dino outbreak.

Well I discovered last night that AquaForest Life Source can cause the Tunze Osmolator 3 to incorrectly detect low water level and activate.

Luckily I was able to be home and resolve the issue about 8 hours or so after the ATO decided to dump in RODI water.

I quickly stabilized and brought my salinity back to 1.026 by removing 10 gallons of tank water and adding premixed salt water I have in the garage. All coral and fish appear fine with the lights off.

Curious to hear how that works? Is AF Life Source not a kind of mud?
The Osmolator is equipped with an optical sensor, right?

So I don’t think the mud directly interfered with the optical sensor.

I think the mud might have caused my protein skimmer to throw out excessive amount of bubbles which made it past the bubble trap and into the sensor. Air bubbles can cause the sensor to malfunction. I plan on eventually adding a float valve to make the issue less likely to occur, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
