Fun will be all its worth... Really, if one cell exist, it can grow a new one... I am thinking if my Maroon can protect my LTA, I might get a raccoon butterfly...
I understand most butterflies make short work of aiptasia. I've got a CBB coming in December. I realize it might be a threat to my RFAs (and especially the babies). That's a tough trade-off, but I'd really love that fish. I'd get a different butterfly but all of the other ones have horrible track records with coral!

I'm just going to have to bioengineer a death pill for aiptasia. We can call it Aiptasia AS^TM, "Aiptasia Assisted Suicide".

Sell baby bristleworms with instructions to pipette them into the mouths of aiptasia? Think we can set up a bristleworm farm pretty quick!

Question for @BeanAnimal and anyone else in the know:

Does the force of the water volume pressing against the glass vary by the height? I.e., is the force against the glass greater at the bottom of the tank than the top? Thus, making seam ruptures most likely at the bottom of the tank? Or is the force equally distributed, making seam rupture at any part, high or low, equally likely?

I'm thinking of seam strength and wondering if the force is greatest at the bottom, would it make more sense to eurobrace the bottom of the tank internally than the top (4 pieces of glass along the inside bottom)?

Thanks!

Pressure is greater at the bottom yes. Physical engineering was my specialty in engineering school… I actually miss it.

So along the bottom of a 2x4ft deep tank there is a force of 7.29kN/m and for a 4x2 ft panel there is an average force of 2.99kN/m^2. The total force on that glass panel then is 2.22kN which is 2,220kg m/s^2.

So I should be good, then?

Ask a professional soccer player to kick a ball at your tank at 42 % of his maximum. If it survives you’re good

I saw a soccer game on TV once. Do I qualify? I was staying at a Holiday Inn Express at the time.

Yes, but you'll have to kick the ball so that it makes impact on the inside of the tank. Hitting the outside replicates nothing. How is your arc? Can you bend it like Beckham?
