Been working on the 6ft tank today. Hoping to have it wet by this weekend. Then my reef moves into it and the nems move into the 80 gallon lagoon... eagerly awaiting the new additions. Are those the pretty girls from up top in the 150?

I'm secretly hoping at some point I can send in a recon Earl to the 150 tall to whisper sweet nothings to them at night.Been working on the 6ft tank today. Hoping to have it wet by this weekend. Its gotten me to my bro. Never fails as soon as I slip it catches me. Now I keep solution on desk with refractometer so I have to calibrate it. Sorry to hear this man!PSA recalibrate your hanna salinity checker often. I've been losing coral and couldn't figure out why. Went to do a water change tonight and it was taking more salt than it should to mix 5 gallons so I calibrated my checker... my lagoon and my nem tank were both running at 38.1 ppt. Probably have been for weeks maybe longer. Couldn't figure out why I was losing coral... now I know.
Absolutely beautiful! Today was a much better day. Tank is on the mend. Found the problem. Quickly addressed it. Things have stopped dieing.Hope things turn around for you brotha!

Wow! That's one heck of a tank!Today is day 1 of what I hope will be 365 days of posts on my new frag tank build.
Tank is a deep blue 60? gallon. Bought it used locally. The tank measures 48L x 24W x 13T. Internet says thats 64 gallons.
This system will have a 40B plumbed into it as a sump. For a total volume around 80 or 90 gallons.
Tank will be lit by 2 or 3 Kessil A360WE's.
Pumps, wave makers, skimmer, etc TBD.
I want this thread to be a from the ground up build. I know there will be days that my update is... "no update today". But hopefully this build can help some other budget builder know what to expect.
My goal for this tank is to grow frags to a larger (colony) size. I also want to be able to at appropriate times make frags to trade or give to fellow reefers. Im not looking to make any money at this point.
Thanks for following along.
Today's progress and pictures.
Started with 8 2x4s. The design for the stand is in my brain. Im not much for writing up elaborate drawings.
I've got 2/3rds of the initial peices cut.
