Thank you... I appreciate the compliment.
You’re welcome. :)

Can you give me some advice on Goniopora? I have one that did well for about 10 months, but now it‘s been closed for weeks.

Are all of your aquacultured? Do you feed anything to them? Trace elements?

I have found that mine do this in cycles. Will be fine for months then close up with minimal polyp extension for a while. Every time they do I move them to lowest light possible and leave them. They typically start opening again in a week or so. You can see in my pics I have a purple one that was fine 5 days ago but has now been closed for a couple days.
Once they have been opening for a week or so I slowly move them back out.
Moderate flow.
No direct feedings, however, I feed my tank heavily. The fish get 2 feedings of 5 frozen cubes a day. This is a combo of mysis, spirulina mysis, spirulina brine, and blood worms.
2 sheets of nori a day
I also include a cube of either baby brine or cyclopeeze with the night time feeding. Twice a week I substitute oyster eggs for these.
I use AB+ once every 2 weeks (aminos)
I run my Mg above 1500.
Alk 8.6
Ca 475
Ph 8.1
Salinity 35
No3 10 to 15
Po4 .15 to .25
I test weekly on Thursdays
I run a refugium on a reverse light cycle and use an undersized skimmer.
Manually dose brightwell part A and B.
Lastly I put a capful of brightwell replenish and a capful of brightwell iodion in each 5 gallons of RODI I add to my ATO reservoir. I know this is inexact as rates of evap vary but it has worked.
The largest pink goni started out the size of a marble.

Yes!!! Mine also do this in cycles!!! I’ve been scratching my head trying to figure out why. A red one bleaches then comes back then bleaches again. It’s absolutely diabolical. They are such a masochistic coral.

Thank you so much for the information on your Goniopora. It really helps. :)

That tank is genius and I love what they did with the rockscape/plumbing.
