I'm trying to get an id on some snails I have in my tank.

These snails are quite small, the largest I've seen so far is maybe 1/8in wide.

They have a turbin shell shape with some white bands or spots. Similar to banded trochus snails, which I know these are not.

A prominent body feature is 4 additional appendages on the sides of the body. Almost like they have 4 more antenna.

They breed rapidly by laying eggs. The eggs are usually laid in a half circle pattern. Others have been smaller and more circular.

I was hoping they were trochus snails, I'm 90% sure that's not case.

From what I've been able to find, I don't believe them to colonista snails. These don't have a spiral shell. Though good information with detailed pictures has been hard to come by.

So what do you think they are?

They seem like great algae eaters and doubt they are a problem. Though I am curious to figure this out!

I wish I could take some better pictures. These are the best I've been able to manage.

Look like two different snails. The last photo looks like a baby trochus. The other one, a collonista which as they get larger will have some color patterns. Collonista have a round shell whereas a trochus will be pointy.
