Has anyone replaced the mesh in their screen top with finer, more transparent mesh? The stock mesh blocks a lot of light
I have the same question. Curious if anyone has kept the stock frame and replaced the mesh.

Not yet, but I'm going to get one the "custom" clear tops with a door so I don't have to lift the it everytime I feed etc. There are a couple of companies that make them.

Any tips on how you did it/what you ordered?

I ordered the netting from amazon, here is a link, its the 1/4 inch. Also BRS sells it in 1/4 and 1/8 inch. I would assume the 1/4 would be better for light to get through and the 1/8 inch if you have tiny fish. I just used a flat head screw driver to pry the spline out then pull it carefully. Just be sure careful as it tends to break easily. Mine broke in a couple places but was still fine when putting it back in. Helps if you have two people, one to hold the netting tight and the other to work the spline back in. They make spline rollers to insert the spline into the frame but this stuff is so thick it didn't really work well. I just used a flat head screw driver to work it in. Just be careful not the pierce through it and work with the flat edge of the screw driver not the tip. My netting didn't come out perfectly tight but it works and looks pretty good.

I’ll bump the thread too. Just got my 30L wet tonight. Great looking scape all!

I was given a gyre pump, ice cap I think, with the setup but it was too large so I’m thinking of removing one half and running just half of a gyre. It will fit wall to wall.

Anyone know if the Hydor SlimSkim (NOT the Nano version) fits in this tank's back chambers? Thanks,

Im running an Icecap 1k in the top right and using the whole thing. Still working on flow on it due to it still moving my sand around. Still new to this and have only been up and running for only a week now.

I have the same gyre on mine too. At first it was blowing my sand too. Just rotate the cages more toward the surface and turn down to a lower percentage.

Hi All, glad I found this thread. I just got my 30L and now buying the rest of my equipment, getting some great ideas from here. I haven’t read through all 11 pages, but I do plan to. I just wondered if anyone has a T5/LED combo on their tanks?

I have the nuvo 40 not the 30L but since this thread is very active :p does anyone have issues with the mesh screen top gathering condensation and black spots (mold???) appearing on the white mesh?

Some water condendencing but I keep my water level fairly high. No mold issues though.
I do want to get a (Clearview or other) custom top with a door so I don't have to remove the lid everytime I feed or dose.

Hi all. Been watching this thread. I have had my new 30L up for about a month now and really like it so far. Unfortunately it is fallow due to a velvet outbreak, but its up and running. Haven't used my top yet due to no fish to jump. So no info on that. And sorry "newandno clue". Don't have those lights either. So, no help from me yet, but just wanted to say hi and let you know there's another 30L fan out there. PS. Think I will end up going with a kessel ap700. Pss. I do have the icepack 1k and although its new and still in basic mode, I am using both blades and running at 50 percent. Love it!

Rented a par meter for the weekend to test some levels. I run 2 hydra 26HD’s over my 30L on AB+ around 49W. Was blown away to see I was getting 400+ par in some areas below the pucks and over 200 PAR on sand bed. I was worried about being under powered before, but looks like I’ll lhave to go even less than half power to not fry my tank

How far above the water do you have them?
