I'm planning to replace an existing tank with either a IM Nuvo EXT 75 or 100. I'm leaning towards the 100 but the space is only 79". The stand is 47.5" wide, so if its centered that leaves 15.75" on each side. The side doors require 19" of clearance to fully open on each side. So essentially I wouldn't be able to fully open the side doors to access the sump. It's also my understand the sump can only be removed from the side. I can't imagine a scenario where I'd want to fully remove the sump unless I'm replacing it but it would probably be an ordeal to do so. My question is should I go with the 75 just for this reason or stick with the 100? Any thoughts?

Attaching a photo of the area with the 60 cube.

i have the 75…
wish i would of gotten the 100.
(15” of space on the sides is more than enough, but yeah, removing the sump would be impossible… not that many people replace sumps like they replace redsea tanks, lol, but still… if the event arises that you need to replace the sump, you need to be able to slide it out)

I think you should go with the larger one. The IM nuvo ext 75 doesnt even have side access doors so you wouldnt lose them either way. Also take a look at the ext 112. Might fit the area better

Check out the 112 (either EXT or INT). I went with the INT due to the space I had to work with. I don't have the tank on the stand yet (hopefully this weekend), but I love that the entire front opens up as well as both side doors (and nothing obstructing the openings). I went with a Bashsea 3018 sump. Got plenty of room behind and in front of the sump, I haven't plumbed it yet, so might move the sump more towards the back. The sump that you could get from IM didn't have a refugium section for this size tank.

hmm, my im75ext has side doors,
tank is 3 years old…
maybe they stopped providing the side doors on newer tank stands?

either way, i have an oversized sump,
would not of been able to get it in there unless i had built the stand around the sump
without side doors.

if it was my choice: 100EXT or 112EXT. rather have more internal space than exterior.

maybe just the ext 50 doesnt then hmm. I do the same with the sump, more room for activities that way

The 75 ext does indeed have side access doors.

Thanks for the advice. The 112 is a cool option I hadn't considered previously. Having said that I'm leaning towards the 110 EXT.
