I picked up an Acid Rain BTA and a pair of RFAs at the swap today. So far, so good. They all stuck and opened up in 10-15 minutes with the pump off.

Nothing is on the move since I turned it back on... yet. :D

All three anemones moved yesterday evening. When the lights came on this morning, the Acid Rain was in the same spot, just on the back of the rock (Of course! :D ) and the RFAs had both moved, but only a few inches from where I originally put them. All of them seemed to move towards shade, though.

I have my lights set to 150 PAR peak in the dead center of the tank. Starting this morning I set my lights on acclimation mode (20% for 4 weeks) to make them a bit more comfortable while they figure things out.

I also have a new pump coming for the tank today. Since the return pump is all I'm using for flow, I've noticed that the Sicce 0.5 (185gph) I'm using isn't quite enough and I have a couple dead spots. Split between the 2x RFGs, I figure I can up the flow a bit without disturbing anything too much. The new pump is a MightyJet 326, and I plan on starting it on 1.2-1.3 (196-217gph) and seeing what happens. The controllable DC pump also gives me a feed mode, so that's a bonus.

If all these anemones stay happy, I plan on adding an RBTA and a few more RFAs and calling it good. Fingers crossed!

looking good! I love the mighty jet... What is your plan as far as plumbing it, I know the output on the pump is half inch. Are you going to reduce it down to 1/4 inch dual nozzles?

I currently have the return split to dual 1/4" RFGs, so I'm just changing out the pump. Everything else will remain the same. I like that much better than a single 1/2" return, especially for higher flow in smaller tanks. I have my 30L setup the same way... 4x 1/4" RFGs instead of 2x 1/2".

It's also nice because they're not as much of an eyesore to look at. Those 1/2" RFGs are HUGE! :D

This is a very interesting build, and following. Beautiful nems. Are there concerns about the BTA and RFAs not getting along? And with an RBTA and more RFAs on the way?

I have a Nuvo 10g office tank starting after xmas and was thinking of RFA focus + inverts. Would love a BTA, too, but worried it might make keeping the few planned corals difficult in a 10g tank. What do you think?

This tank will be anemones ONLY. No coral. Specifically because it's not a big tank, and I don't want to lose any nice stuff to walking anemones. That's why I'm trying to stay away from any extra powerheads, and sticking to my return pump as the sole source of flow. No shredded anemones that way.

In my limited experience with RFAs (and from all I've read), they tend to find a spot and stick to it. They also tend to like lower light than do BTAs, so I'm hoping they all occupy different areas of the rockwork/tank.

I know some of the BTAs don't coexist well in the same tank, but "regular" RBTAs and the greens (including the Acid Rain) don't seem to be too much trouble. At least that's what I'm hoping, because I'd like to have a nice range of color in the tank.

I might build another small rock structure for an empty area of the tank (lower left when viewed from the front) that will give another tunnel for the shrimp goby pair that will eventually be in the tank as well as another small island for a few RFAs to occupy.

Still a work in progress, but it's getting there!

Just installed the pump at 1.3 (217gph) and the flow looks pretty good! I'll keep an eye on it, but so far, so good.

Love thay gold rock flower!
Yeah. It's super bright. That pic was just my cellphone, unfiltered with the whites on. It freaking GLOWS under blues. It walked from the rock, about 2" down and 2" over and is currently happily (I think) planted in the sand.

That's the one nice thing about nano tanks... This thing only holds 7g of actual water. You can do BIG water changes and still use a 5g bucket! :D

Stuff can get sideways pretty quickly, but most things are only a water change away from "back to normal". My issue was that I was doing all the water changes, but I wasn't checking to make sure I actually needed to. Anemones (like coral) need SOME nitrates and phosphates to thrive. I didn't have any.
I just started exactly the same. Just set it up 10/2021 as well. 4 Bubbletips in it with a rock flower. Some montipora cap, stylophora, bowerbanki, maxima clam , leptoseras, rainbow clove polyps, few orange mushrooms. The bubbletips are 4 different colors. All small from 1 1/2” to 3-4”. Rose -red bT, neon pink, peachy orange, and a neon orange.
Going to move a tiny neon yellow and a small ultra rainbow from my anemone 20 long, to this IM Nuvo 10.

anyone know about sealab 28?
Wonder if it can be used in this tank.

I’ll try to upload a picture. It looks a little different than this one a few days ago.
Guess it will keep changing until the anemones settle down.

I'd love to have a few different colors of BTA in here! I haven't even seen some of the colors you have in person anywhere.

Here it is as of today. Everyday looks different. Anemones like to move.

Just jumping in , love the idea of anemone only tank , will be my next tank! Beautiful anemones so far , I’ve sadly lost a few BTA due to mixing strains maybe something else? It’s honestly a gamble, each time I lost one it was the only thing negative happening the tank so I’m led to believe it’s was chemical … recently added GBTA and they slowly were withering in a attempt to help I broadcast dosed cipro in my DT and the GBTA are coming back , so I would get some cipro to have on hand. Before and after cipro pics for one GBTA

So far the 3 anemones I added all seem to be doing fine. They haven't moved since Sunday evening, and all are open.

A buddy is holding an RBTA for me. I'm wondering if I'd be tempting fate to pick it up this weekend. Other than an RBTA, I only plan on adding 3 more RFAs, then that's it for this tank.

I do run carbon in this tank, if that matters.

My tank lights don't come on until 8:30am (an hour from now) but, as I walked past the tank this morning, I noticed what looked like the smaller of my 2 Snowflakes actually nestled in the RBTA! These are tank raised clowns (born in May of this year) that I got directly from the breeder.

I thought it would take them longer to figure it out, as the Acid Rain has only been in there for 11 days, and the Rainbow 4 days. My wife is going to be so excited! :D
