OK the long and short of it, I can an unfinished basement I am thinking of making into a man cave/ fish room.

lets say its 35' X 20' with all the basement BS to work around.
this would be a long slow build out when I have the funds and time. so guessing one to two years.
but its got me thinking about what i would do down there.

I would love a nice threader with either a projector or 100" flat screen.

as far an aquariums go I could do:

a few smaller ones 50-125 gallons. some might even be FW planted. who knows.
or
one massive tank. I have a 200 peninsula FOWLER up stairs but would love to have a 500-1000 gallons.

there is no way to get large tanks down there so if I go BIG it would be DIY plywood something on the line of 16'x48x 30 that would be 1,197

IDK just thinking aloud here.
i know this would be a huge under taking but would be cool to have a man cave down there. :)

I have five smaller tanks, 36gal, 50gal, 50gal, 75gal, and a 135gal. All separate systems with their own sumps and equipment. They are easier for me to maintain.

I'm going with neither. You already have a large tank, so more downstairs wouldn't really do much for you besides extra work. I would consider something different like a species specific nano system. Something that would be interesting and different that won't take away from your home theater.

you know I have been thinking of nanos even if i did a monster tank i would a nano next to the couch.

the reason i would go monster would be so I can have a few of my all time fav. fish
cow fish, queen & emp. angel and porky puffer along with all my dwarf angels, butterflies and tangs.

IDK its cool idea of going to be a ton of work and $$$

LOL, can I mix and match?? I don't think I would want to monster tanks! Maybe a monster tank and a few other smaller tanks? This option sounds WAY more appealing to me.
