Idea for Those Who Hate Putting Arm All the Way in Tank

I have the Coralife Aquagloves.

My right one just started seeping at the seam. They're old tho so the only complaint is the dang hole for hanging them makes them not as long as the could be.

These look perfect and priced right. Are they tough enough to move rocks around? That's usually the only time I wear gloves

I use the disposable with another pair of nitrile over/under depending on what I'm working on.
The nitrile give me better feel and I end up with less holes in them

I bought a tank from a guy out of state. It was, according to him, a standard 180 gallon. I was so happy, because it was only supposed to be 24” tall. Got it home, measured it bc I couldn’t touch bottom, and realized it was a 210 gallon with 29.6” sides. Booooooo (Also, guy had this tank for years… how did he not know it held 15% more water than a 180? Weird.)

I use the same and put a nitrile glove on top because I find those rip easy-like if you can see a rock they will tear.

I’m not sure of the proper term I am looking for, tactile feedback, dexterity?

Say I’m blindly reaching for a frag that fell behind the rock work. Would the fingers on these gloves allow me to tell when I’ve grabbed the frag? Or are they thicker and more rigid like the typical yellow gloves one would use when washing dishes?

Mine were like the latter, or even thicker.

Yes, I used gloves like these. If you are picking up something like a sharp live rock, thin gloves can puncture.

I believe the whole point of these gloves, made to do rectal exams on horses, is to throw them away after use. There are rubber gloves available that are made for extended use, but they are somewhat annoying because you have to wait for them to dry because they’re so hard to put on when wet.

I am petite so the normal gloves are all too large for my hands. Maybe the vet gloves will protect me from my clownfish barracuda?

I've used the disposable vinyl vet gloves for many years but haven't found any that don't leak in the finger area even if I don't touch any live rock. I also add a nitrile glove on top that is thicker than normal (made for chemotherapy usage).


These nitrile gloves give me lots of dexterity and don't puncture at all when handling rock. It's the best combination I've found. I even get multiple uses out of both this way.

I tried the thicker heavy duty gloves and just don't like the "feel" when I'm picking things up.
