Idea for Those Who Hate Putting Arm All the Way in Tank

Look, idk if I’m the only one who loathes putting my entire arm up to the armpit in my tank to clean it, place corals, etc., but I can’t stand it. Not to mention, might be putting oils in it, soap, even sunscreen. So I thought about how my veterinarian checks my horses for pregnancy, and ordered these arm-length plastic gloves to use in my tank. They work perfectly and are $12. Winning!

These work great. I use them every time I stick my arm in the tank. Like you I always worry about introducing oils or toxins from my hands into the water. They don’t hold up well when moving the rock work but are great for everything else.

They arrived very discreetly packaged, don't worry. hahahahaha (Actually, they really did. They were in a clear plastic bag that looked like it had clear plastic in it. lol)

They would also be good for folks who are scared to frag palys/zoas, I would think. Personally, I have a rather kamikaze approach to that, but there are many smarter people in this hobby than me. lol

I use similar length, but heavier duty vinyl gloves that provide greater protection against sharp bits

I use similar when working in my aiptasia tanks as I am now sensitive to them. The fingers are not very durable, so if handling rock work it is best to put a 6 mil nitrile glove over. I also put a rubber band over the upper arm so they don’t fall down.

I use the disposable with another pair of nitrile over/under depending on what I'm working on.
The nitrile give me better feel and I end up with less holes in them

Yes, I used gloves like these. If you are picking up something like a sharp live rock, thin gloves can puncture.

This is what I was thinking! It's not a bad option if you've got fresh cuts/wounds. Whether you have palys/zoas in the tank, you can still have some nasty stuff capable of causing infections. Not a bad idea.

I’m not sure of the proper term I am looking for, tactile feedback, dexterity?

Say I’m blindly reaching for a frag that fell behind the rock work. Would the fingers on these gloves allow me to tell when I’ve grabbed the frag? Or are they thicker and more rigid like the typical yellow gloves one would use when washing dishes?
