I think this is algae on my glass... How do I remove?

Hello fellow saltines,

I don't seem to have a problem with algae in my tank but this hard, green stuff has started appearing on my glass. I'm assuming it's algae. I tried scraping it off with an old credit card but it's really stuck on. Do I need something with a sharper edge? Is there another way to get rid of it? I can try to get a better pic if needed. The phone on my camera was having a hard time focusing on it.

Thanks! I don't mind gettiñg my hands/arms wet. Nothing in my tank attacks me... Yet. LOL. Are there specific ones for this task and for tanks? I don't want to accidently get something that might scratch my glass so I don't mind paying a bit more to make sure it's safe.

The flipper magnet cleaners are decent too. I use a flipper on the inside and one of these on the outside. Stronger magnet and cleaner look.

If you don’t mind getting your hands wet you can use a razor blade but I like to keep my hands out as much as possible

Its standard algae and magnetic scraper is way to go for ease of cleaning.

I like the Flipper Float glass cleaner. Does a pretty decent job of cleaning off the algae. For the REALLY tough spots, I have a small hand scraper. I have tried the long handle ones, but my experience has been that the angle of the handle does not allow me to really get to the areas I need to... Hand held scraper and a towel and the glass is clean

Thank you for these suggestions! I totally agree with trying to keep your hands out of the tank. I have some tiny cryptic, bottom dwelling fish that I target feed with a medicine dropper so my arms end up in the tank. LOL. I'm sure they would find the food on their own but I'm ultra scared they won't and they'll starve so they get the up close and personal treatment from me. Even my six year old freshwater tank with gobies still gets target fed. LOL
