I left it fallow for around 6 weeksHow long are you leaving the display tank fallow
I think I’ve read it requires an 11 week fallow periodI left it fallow for around 6 weeks
Yes I treated them but now 2 of them got it again and 1 already died I now only have 3 one of them still have it my clowns are like immune. But I don’t understand why ich showed up again no fish were added. Also, have you treated the surviving fish? They will continue to carry ich and infect any other fish
The theory is higher the tank temp, the faster the fallow period. I believe 6 weeks is done at 81F. But I would probably wait a few more weeks just in case.I think I’ve read it requires an 11 week fallow period
It was still in the tank. Need longer fallow.Yes I treated them but now 2 of them got it again and 1 already died I now only have 3 one of them still have it my clowns are like immune. But I don’t understand why ich showed up again no fish were added.
Sorry I did Jays recommended fallow period which is 60 days6 weeks fallow is not enough.
If you keep getting ich repeatedly, I would suspect you are either overstocking, or stocking with aggressive fish, or not enough hiding spots, or water quality is not up to par. Ich IMO is more of a stress related disease, something about your tank is causing stress to y our fish.
My salinity 1.026What are the parameters in your display tank?
Ich tends to be stress related.
I did add snails after fallow and corals I need to quarantine those too?Yup, longer fallow.
Also, if you are adding other things, snails, hermits, ect, that can also potentially add ich. Depends where you are buying from. Some LFS's keep them seperate and some do not.
well everything seems okay here, phosphates could be lower like you said but I don’t believe that would cause ich. I’ve had much higher phosphates. My salinity 1.026
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 20
Phosphate 2 working on getting that down
Ph 8.4
Calcium 480
10 kh
Keep my tank around 77 degrees
Take fallow to 8 weeks and can you post pics of the fish with ich? Need to verify ich is what you have. In addition, are you quarantining or adding fish right to the display tank?I keep losing fish due to ich all my fish currently have been quarantined because of last ich outbreak but then 2 of my fish got it again one may push through but idk what I’m doing wrong? 7 days times 6 weeks is 42 days.Sorry I did Jays recommended fallow period which is 60 days
Yeah the phosphates being high has just irritated my coral. I just don’t understand what I’m doing wrong I quarantined and treated them the first time for recommended time on jay hemdals forumwell everything seems okay here, phosphates could be lower like you said but I don’t believe that would cause ich. I used to add fish right to the tank but I haven’t added any new fish. I misspoke about the 6 weeks I used your and jays recommendation on fallow and treatment procedures.Take fallow to 8 weeks and can you post pics of the fish with ich?
